Golden State Flooring opened its Sacramento location in 1989 focusing its distribution efforts on the unfinished flooring contractor. Consisting of two employees (one sales representative and one warehouse clerk) distribution took place out of a 5,000 square foot facility. There were no forklifts, delivery trucks or showroom on site, however through months of hard work Golden State made a name for itself in the Central Valley.
Seventeen years later, things sure have changed. Today, there are fifteen full time employees consisting of one division manager, one operations manager, one credit manager, seven sales representatives and five warehouse clerks. Working out of a 20,000 square foot facility with three delivery trucks, three forklifts and an elaborate showroom Golden State Sacramento is the place for all of your flooring needs.
Deliveries are made as far North as Shasta and as far South as Modesto. Additionally, Golden State Sacramento services Lake Tahoe and Reno. "Many of our customers reside in the Tahoe/Reno areas and we are happy to deliver to them on a regular basis," stated Division Manager Brad Coates. "Right now we distribute a lot of the hand scraped and hand sculpted lines to those locations."
Thirty year Golden State Flooring veteran Dennis Stamer recently transferred from South San Francisco to Sacramento as their new Operations Manager. "I see a lot of familiar faces come through our doors," stated Stamer. "Many Bay Area contractors have moved to the Central Valley and it is nice to know that we are ready to service them from both a will call and a delivery perspective. Each Wednesday we treat our customers to free hot dogs and sodas in our warehouse, and we recently hosted our first 'Summer Sizzle' customer appreciation day. Numerous manufacturers were on site and our customers had access to special deals as well as an Armadillos Willy's catered lunch. With such great feedback, I expect more customer appreciation events in the future."
Asked why Golden State has seen such growth, Division Manger Brad Coates simply stated the following; "We are here for one reason, to service our customers. We carry the industries top manufacturers and I feel we deliver world class customer service. I also want to thank all of our customers for their years of loyalty."
