Allen & Tuggle
![]() In 1877 Allen & Tuggle began a small hardwood flooring and moulding mill in the San Francisco Bay Area. As the business quickly grew they expanded into lumber distribution in 1883 to support their mill and to supply other companies. In 1885, fire destroyed the lumber company. Mr Tuggle did not care to resume the business and sold his interest to James E. Higgins Sr. The company was rebuilt and renamed Allen & Higgins Lumber Company. Through the years the company continued to grow, and in 1911 Mr. Higgins bought the remaining shares from Allen's estate and renamed the company to J.E. Higgins Lumber Company as it remains today. After 134 years of focusing on quality, innovation and style, Allen & Tuggle fine crafted wood floors continues to meet the discriminating demands of today's consumer. It is this heritage and tradition that has once again inspired us to proudly put our name back on the products that we have so carefully crafted through the years. Allen & Tuggle Product Offering
